it's our city bristol
On 5th May Bristol voters will have the opportunity to vote in a
referendum to keep or to replace the mayoral system with a modern committee system.
It's Our City Bristol is an independent group campaigning to raise awareness of the benefits of a collaborative committee system.

The Referendum question on the ballot paper is:
How would you like Bristol City Council to be run?
By a Mayor who is elected by voters. This is how the Council is run now.
By one or more Committees made up of elected Councillors. This would be a change from how the Council is run now.
To improve democracy in Bristol, #VoteCommittee
In Bristol we elect a mayor once every 4 years to rule over us and make all the decisions.
They have absolute power, very little scrutiny and almost no accountability until 4 years later when we vote again.
We and our elected councillors are mostly locked out of the decision-making.
We think that means our community voices are being ignored.
